Sports psychologists are a vital role in sports settings. Their primary focus is the well-being of athletes and creating the conditions in which teams, individual athletes, staff, and all those involved in the sports organization can maximize their potential. Their second goal is to raise awareness of sports participation and educate about sport and its ethics, focusing on psychological, emotional, and relational aspects.

He puts the athlete's mental well-being before victory.

The sports psychologist's role is to optimize an athlete's performance and help them achieve their goals. To do this, they must consider all factors that can influence performance (e.g., emotional states). They must have extensive knowledge of the athlete's discipline, athletic performance, and physiological mechanisms, as well as the underlying psychological dimension related to the action. They work on goal-setting, optimizing physical, mental, technical, and tactical abilities. They teach techniques to maintain focus on the task at hand even under pressure. They help the individual manage emotions and thoughts, making them functional to performance. The athlete will develop greater self-esteem and self-confidence, and will be equipped with new tools that will allow them to work with the process in mind, not just the result.

my
experience

I earned a master's degree in Sports Psychology and Human Performance Specialist from CISSPAT in Padua.

I'm a sports psychologist and coach athletes and teams. I specialize in outdoor sports such as skiing, cycling, and surfing. I've worked with Italian national team athletes in various disciplines, I'm the founder of the HildaRide cycling project, and I'm the psychologist for the OltreBikeadventures association.

In the surfing industry, I've conducted field research and published articles. I help surfers optimize performance, manage thoughts, anxiety, and emotions, breathe effectively underwater, and achieve their goals. My latest field research was conducted in the Algarve, Portugal, where I spent three months.
